The Gilbreths, of Cheaper by the Dozen fame, owned the house in the 1950s and wrote of their experience in Innside Nantucket. |

| Our charming and historic inn is located on Centre Street, next to the Old North Church, in the historic residential district. It's "the perfect location," so there's no need for a car. The inn is a short walk to restaurants, shops, museums, theaters, tennis, the waterfront, and ferries. | |
| Jetties Beach, Children's Beach, and Brant Point are all harbor beaches within easy walking distance, with surf beaches on the ocean side of the island accessible by bicycle or summer beach bus.
Anchor Inn is an easy walk from the boats...walk up Main or Broad Streets and take a right on Centre Street. Continue just past the church. |

Classical music and the aroma of Charles' home-baked muffins greet you each morning at the complimentary continental breakfast served on our cheery enclosed breakfast porch. A refrigerator with ice is located there for your convenience. Beach towels and a bicycle rack are also available. |
|
The inn's unspoiled interior retains the original random-width floorboards and striking antique paneling. A common room with fireplace welcomes guests to enjoy a selection of Nantucket books and games, or review a collection of menus from the many superb restaurants nearby. |

Each room is unique, with period-style furnishings, all private bathrooms, hair dryers, air conditioning in season, cable TV, telephone with voice mail and most with a queen canopy bed. In Captain Hammond's honor, each of the eleven guest rooms is named for a Nantucket whaleship.
